An excellent model of how cool-climate Syrah can be done on the California coast, this bottling energizes the nose with green, white and black peppercorn, bay leaf and smashed elderberry aromas on the explosive nose. Those tremendous spices fire up what black raspberry fruit of the palate, leaving the tongue tantalized and ready for more. Matt Kettmann

The 2021 Syrah Presqu'ile is a glorious wine that bridges the gap between savory and riper styles. Dense blue/purplish fruit saturates the palate. There's tons of savory intensity and not too many green notes. This is one of the best wines I tasted from the Presqu'ile estate in 2021. This is seriously impressive.
