Courbis' Cornas Champelrose has always been one of my favorite wines, and this vintage builds on that excellence.  I poured this wine for a recent in-store tasting on a Friday and it was a smash hit.  This is a wine that exemplifies how special Syrah from the Northern Rhone can be.  Being relatively young it needs to open up, but when it does - wow!     Kurt Fauerbach, Owner Xplor Wine

Opaque ruby. Mineral-accented blackberry, cherry, smoked meat and olive aromas show fine detail and a spicy black pepper flourish. Energetic cherry and red and dark berry flavors are complemented by a candied violet accent; an exotic pit fruit nuance emerges with air. Delivers a suave blend of depth as well as energy, and finishes with smoky mineral cut, discreet tannins and superb, floral-driven persistence.
