This is a secret weapon wine that I love recommending with food (pairing recommendations to follow in the unabridged writeup).  The blend is comprised primarily of Tempranillo (86%), but also includes Graciano , Mazuelo, and Garnacha .  Additionally, It is sourced from a vineyard the family has been tending to since the 1930’s!  As many of you know, older vines produce smaller yields of more concentrated grapes, which leads to greater complexity in the wine.  Love that.     Kurt Fauerbach, Owner Xplor Wine

The 2020 Villota Selvanevada Rioja shows aromatic complexity. The structure is reminiscent of traditional Rioja wines, with intense and vivid colors. Fresh and lively mouth. A subtle wood highlights the fruit. Subtle nutmeg, cinnamon and truffle. A faithful expression of the vineyard and landscape.     Winemaker's Notes
