It is not everyday that you can enjoy a wine made from 100 year old vines. I find that there is a lot of focus on the age of a bottle (vintage) of wine, but less emphasis on the age of the vines themselves. As vines age, the yield is decreased as the size of the grape becomes smaller but more concentrated with flavor. Older is better in this case.

Aromas of lemon-lime, peach and orange blossom pave the way for flavors of lemon tart, toasted pineapple, fennel pollen, vanilla bean and rose petal. Notes of anise and orange zest endure on the taste buds. — Mike DeSimone
